- Helvetas and the MED program received a plaque as a sign of gratitude for the many years of help and support of the municipality of Mali Zvornik
With the professional and advisory help of our program, trainings, workshops and seminars that we organized, the employees of the municipal administration of Mali Zvornik gained enough necessary knowledge and experience for further work on the implementation of reforms in the area of tax revenues. In the name of gratitude for engagement, commitment, understanding and support of Mali Zvornik, our program received a plaque for the year 2021.
Jens Engeli, regional director of Helvetas for Eastern Europe, received the plaque on behalf of the program.
“I can freely say that we are also honored to have a partner in the program such as Mali Zvornik. A lot of time was spent to complete all these projects that were implemented in Mali Zvornik. With dedicated work, all of us together, we managed to bring everything to an end, so that today this municipality has a new kindergarten, new bus shelters, seven new playgrounds, 5,000 new boards with street names and address numbers,” said Jens Engeli, Helvetas Eastern Europe Regional Director.
The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) also received the plaque because, as stated in the explanation, several different programs and projects were successfully implemented through which employees gained new knowledge and experience, the application of new useful models in work was introduced and various facilities were built, mainly intended to improve conditions for the youngest. The plaque was received by the Ambassador of Switzerland to Serbia, Urs Schmid, who praised all those who participated in the realization of all the projects.
The municipality of Mali Zvornik was awarded the stimulus fund of the Swiss government, in the amount of 400,000 Swiss francs, from which, at the suggestion of residents of the city, the construction of a new kindergarten in Donji Naselj, a multipurpose classroom in the “Crvenkapa” Preschool, 7 children’s playgrounds in the territory of the municipality was supported, and realization of 9 actions within the project “Mali Zvornik po meri građana”.
